Over a year ago, Twitter shut its macOS application down. This came after Twitter bought Tweetie and put the official Twitter branding on top of it.
Honestly, I’ve been using the new official Twitter app. Typewriter sound app mac. I really only use Twitter to follow some accounts and organizations I’m interested in, so simply having the 1st party iOS app on my Mac works fine for me. TweetDeck is another official Twitter client that’s free to use, and it’s a lot better than the one Twitter just ditched. Technically, it’s more of a web app than a native macOS app, but you can.
However, shortly after that the company pulled the app from the Mac store and revealed that within 30 days the app would no longer be supported. Twitter explained themselves by stating that it was “focusing their efforts on a great Twitter experience that’s consistent across platforms” so users on Mac would have to use the website or third-party apps to access Twitter. https://wyutvdi.weebly.com/flixster-video-app-mac.html.
That all changed at Apple’s WWDC 2019 Keynote
At WWDC 2019, Apple announced that Twitter will be making a return to the platform with a new app.

The application will be a part of Apple’s Project Catalyst. This project enables developers to easily port apps from iOS to the upcoming version of macOS, called Catalina. From what Apple has shared with us, the upcoming application will be very similar to the version of Twitter you use on your iPhone.
The Twitter Support account also confirmed the news, stating that “This Twitter for Mac will be fully native, with all the native features of a Mac app.” Twitter also praised Apple’s new technology and stated that this would enable the upcoming application to receive “Regular updates, just like Twitter for iPad and iPhone.” https://wyutvdi.weebly.com/blog/mac-network-dhcp-app.
